Scotland has a deep and enduring connection with the sea.
The Kestin AW20 collection draws inspiration from this innate relationship between the North Sea and Scotland’s coasts. The old stories of the men who worked on the boats, the history of the fishing industry dotted all along these shores. Harsh climates and lifestyles resulted in clothing that was built to last, and often with a personalised style – all about quality, performance and narrative.
The seasonal colour palette includes nautical, industrial influences of deep navy, sea blue, steel and rust mixed with natural accents of sand, olive and burgundy.
Mid-century styling and the reinterpretation of classic British looks are updated with technical premium fabrics. New outerwear styles include the quilt lined Flight Jacket, derived from a MA1 US military style. Also new this season is the Aberlour, a relaxed carpenter style derived from a classic French workwear pant.
Knitwear is always a key part of storytelling for the winter season. AW20 sees the introduction of the Fife Gansey Knit. Personalised Gansey chest patterns were used by fishing families to identify the men recovered from the sea. Our Made in Scotland banded Gansey is produced in heavy 100% virgin wool.
