How To Care For Knitwear
Designed for everyday wear and crafted with 100% natural fibres, our knitwear is made in the best knitwear factory in Scotland and is designed to last. Wool is natural, biodegradable, renewable and naturally thermoregulating. Enjoy your knitwear for years to come by following these simple guidelines.
Storage - always fold, never hang
Store your knits folded in a drawer or shelf. Hanging knitwear can cause the shape and fit to distort. When storing wool clothing you should re-shape if needed, fold, and keep in zip-lock bags to protect your items from any moths.
Washing - hand is best
Wash your knitwear by hand or dry clean. Avoid harsh detergents, bleach, and stain removers. Instead, opt for an eco-friendly wool wash to maintain the colour of your pieces.
If hand washing soak for 5-10 minutes & rinse thoroughly, to get rid of excess water roll your knit in a clean towel and gently press to absorb the water. Gently pull to shape and dry flat. Do not wring.
Pilling of wool is not a sign of poor quality but a natural reaction that occurs when the very soft wool fibres rub during wear. This is more likely to occur with brushed products & the beauty of natural fibre knits is that these can easily be removed gently by hand. Be sure to remove bobbles regularly. A good (and quick) way to do this is with an electronic bobble remover, which acts in the same way as an electric razor, shaving off the bobble and leaving the surface of the fabric smooth.
