CUSTOMER SERIES 3 - MICHELE CIVIERA

Do you remember the first time you met Kestin? And how did you become friends?
I think it was at a launch party, then I started trying to shop in the St Stephens Street shop weekly and just annoy him if he was working through the back.

Can you tell me a little about your work and what you do?
I own and operate a group of restaurants and a bar focused around New York style pizza & good times.

How did you get to where you are? What made you choose this path?
I worked my way around the world and food and drink through my 20's and somehow ended up back in Edinburgh, I finessed what I learned on my travels and here we are.

Our brand is all about taking Scottish references but showing them in a new light, do you feature Scotland in your business and experience?
Yes, your reference is us, we are trying to redefine global perceptions of the Scottish food industry in how we present ourselves, in our food, service and overall customer experience.

What is your favourite Kestin piece ever and why?
Neist overshirt - I have it in about 8 different colours, perfect piece through the year. Light enough for traveling or a summer jacket but perfect for layering through winter.

Why do you like the brand, and why is it important to your industry?
I love it because I personally enjoy wearing it and it makes me feel good. It’s local and a brand and family we want to support and take pride in seeing move forward. Also the close connection it has with other brands and businesses locally.

Lastly what drives you and what inspires you?
Creating a food brand that stands the test of time like the New York pizzerias that I look up too.
