Kestin is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the growth of the Kestin business. This role will report directly into the Company Directors, but also work closely with our Sales Team, Production and Development Team, and Retail Team to ensure optimal performance. This role requires someone who is dynamic, commercially astute and self-motivated who is ready to scale a strong brand into a powerful international business.The role of Commercial Finance Manager requires a qualified Accountant that has a strong background (ideally with experience of working in a small to medium sized commercial business), in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and business partnering with non-financial stakeholders. This is an opportunity which presents the ability to be involved with a number of high value projects facing off to key decision makers and members of the leadership team with the utmost visibility & exposure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Deliver an effective accounting support function for the firm
· Ensure the firms ledgers are up to date and regularly reconciled
· Ensure monthly accounting entries are posted with no material errors
· Produce and maintain monthly financial reports and reconciliations for the firm
· Produce monthly management accounts for the Group
· Key focus on Debt management to ensure cash is optimised and review the Aged Debtor ledger
· Oversee the preparation and review the daily cashflow and ensure any key messages are raised timeously.
· Review and supervision of the annual audit each year, reporting any key issues raised to the directors
· Prepare the annual accounts
· Prepare the annual budget for review by the Directors
· Review and monitor the budget each month and provide commentary for the Directors
· Supervise the purchase ledger process including VAT return submission.
· Tax return submission and CT returns for the wider group with the Group tax adviser
· Assist with ad-hoc finance related projects.
· Continuous improvement of the finance procedures
· Deliver robust information to deadlines in a user-friendly format.
· Demonstrate excellent communication and knowledge transfer skills.
· Show highly developed organisational skills.· Be recognised as an expert in your chosen area of work with suitable experience. Sector experience, retail, fashion and international trade attractive but not essential
· Identify and manage risk effectively in your work, focusing on key areas of risk for the firm and ensuring these are escalated up the chain in a timely manner
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
• Qualified Accountant - ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA
• Strong commercial finance or FP&A background
• Ability to interact, engaged and influence with senior stakeholders including non-financial individuals
• Advanced user of Excel and strong modelling skills
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
KEY ATTRIBUTES
· Proactive – responsible for identifying issues relative to the firm’s financial performance and operations and bringing analysis, suggestions, challenge and fresh ideas to the Board
· Analytical – responsible for analysis of the firm’s position, monthly, quarterly and annually – key role in setting budgets and cashflows, identifying trends/forecasting and providing high level commentary.
· Strategic – responsible for maintaining focus on profitability and tax efficiency.
· Educational – advising and training in key financial issues to encourage and optimise business outcomes.
· Advisory – responsible for the delivery of timeous and relevant financial information about the business.
